About 20 years ago, my friend Mara was a reporter for a local New York City news station and she worked for the legendary reporter, Gabe Pressman. In a hilarious piece she later wrote for The Village voice about her job, she described him as looking like an old lesbian. Gabe Pressman is a genius in the local news world. He also really did look like an old lesbian. Less so now. I think you have to be a youngish or middle-aged man to look like an old lesbian. Although you can look like an old man if you’re a middle-aged lesbian or an old lesbian. Curious. Here is a picture of a young Gabe Pressman with Mayor Wagner and President Truman.
